A little bit about me
I'm Ricky Stevens. I live with my lovely young family near Edinburgh and have a passion for creating stuff *. In fact, for the past 12 years it's mainly been about creating digital stuff *.
Sometimes it's about coming up with an effective digital marketing idea that will work across various mediums. It's also about dreaming up a design for a website, a microsite, an online ad, a user interface or a digital identity. I work for clients who are quite often household names, sometimes smaller organisations, sometimes sister agencies, but every now and then it's just something we do ourselves to get chins wagging. It's always about working with talented people, leading, inspiring and mentoring a creative team and making the tea for my colleagues (every now and then).
I like creating things * that feel right for their purpose. I consider it problem solving covered in fluff. I like to know how I can help to make a brand or product work most effectively and engaging for the consumer, and I do this by learning about the product, it's market and applying a well researched solution that often looks pretty. I have a passion for solid interaction design, clever graphic thinking and design execution, sweet typography, beautiful illustration and stunning photography. When it's appropriate, I just love adding in things * here and there to projects, working with talented people using clever interactive technologies and animation techniques. It's the sum of all parts that makes something great, and I love being involved in the whole process from it's concept to creation.
